During the past decades, light-responsive polymer nanocarriers have received considerable attention due to their significant applications. There has been a lot of interest in development of chemosensors based on fluorescent polymers to sense a wide range of analytes, such as pH, polarity, temperature, etc. In this study, reverse atom transfer radical polymerization (RATRP) was used to synthesize acrylic polymers with well-controlled molecular weight and also narrow distribution. To study the effect of polarity and pH, fluorescein was doped to polymers during nanoprecipitation to reach light-responsive polymer nanoparticles. The results obtaind from UV-vis and fluorescence analyses showed that the polarity and pH of media affect the optical properties of these nanocarriers.
