پرسش از معناي زندگي انسان مدرن در عصر تصوير جهان داراي اهميت خاص خوداست، زيرا اين عصر ، نمايان-گري زمانه اي است كه در آن انسان مدرن مناسبات سنتي خود را با نظام عالم برهم زتده و با تكيه بر عقلانيت خودبنياد خويش، جهان جديدي را مطابق خواست خود بنا كرده است. در اين جهان جديد تصوير شده، هويت و حقيقت همة امور عالم، مانند خدا، جايگاه ديگر اشياء، واقعيات و ارزش هاي مابعدالطبيعي، الهياتي، اخلاقي و نظاير آنها مطابق فهم و اراده انسان مدرن بازتعريف مي گردند. از اوصاف اساسي عصر تصوير جهان مي توان به انسان-محوري، بي خدايي، يا ندانم انگاري الهياتي، علم گرايي، دنياگرايي، نسبي شدن اخلاق، فراموشي مرگ و راززدايي از عالم اشاره كرد. منتقدان چنين عصري، آن را عصر بي معنايي تمام زندگي انسان مي دانند. درحالي كه با نظر دقيق تر و توجه به متغيرهاي اهميت هدف، ارزش و كاركرد در معناشناسي معناي زندگي، و تنوع نظريات و رويكردهاي جديد درباب معناي زندگي، از جمله طبيعت گرايي و ناطبيعت گرايي، زندگي او معنادار است، اگرچه معنايي موقتي و محدود دارد. البته با نظر به رويكرد فراطبيعت گرايي چنين زندگي اي فاقد معناست كه تنها با بازگشت به خدا قابل بازيابي معناست. در اين مقاله، ضمن تحليل ابعاد مختلف عصر تصوير جهان با نظر به اوصاف اساسي آن، تلاش مي-شود نشان داده شود كه معناي دنيوي و موقتي آن تنها با محدود ساختن نگاه انسان به مرزهاي دنياي مادي و دلبستگي به نتايج علم و تكنولوژي جديد قابل تصور است، ولي اين معنا با معناي حقيقي در نگاه خداباوري فاصله زيادي دارد.

Among the basic characteristics of the age of the image of the world, we can mention human-centeredness, atheism, or theological ignorance, scientism, secularism, moral relativism, forgetting death and demystifying the world. Critics of such an age consider it the age of meaninglessness of all human life. While with a more detailed opinion and attention to the variables of the importance of the goal, value and function in the semantics of the meaning of life, and the variety of new theories and approaches regarding the meaning of life, including naturalism and unnaturalism, his life is meaningful, although It has a temporary and limited meaning. Of course, according to the approach of supernaturalism, such a life has no meaning, which can only be restored by returning to God. In this article, while analyzing the different aspects of the age of the world image with regard to its basic characteristics, an attempt is made to show that its worldly and temporary meaning can only be achieved by limiting the human view to the boundaries of the material world and attaching to the results of new science and technology. It is an idea, but this meaning is far from the true meaning in the eyes of God.
