Investigation of polypropylene textiles coated with Cu by electroless metho

In the present study electroless method was used to coat polypropylene fabric and the properties was investigated. For high conductivity of the coated fabric, the metal layer should be uniform and without any disconnection. electroless method is a simple and low cost type of coating methods and also does not need any complicated instruments. SEM images revealed the metal layer is integrated and uniform. Average thickness of metal layer was about 1.56 µm. Electrical conductivity for metal coated fabric was increased in order by 107 in comparison with untreated sample. The results of the washing fastness test indicated the desired durability of metal layer on the fiber surface. Wettability angle of the coated sample increased 16 degrees which means the hydrophobicity improvement of the sample.
