ON THE SECOND DERIVATIVE GENERAL LINEAR METHODS

It it the purpose of this paper to review the results on the construction and implementation of second derivative general linear methods (SGLMs) for ordinary differential equations. We describe the construction of these methods with the same stability properties as Runge–Kutta methods, then we present results of numerical experiments obtained by applying SGLMs of maximal order to two stiff problems. These results indicate potential of SGLMs.
