Parallel Combination of Passive and Hybrid Power Filters for Harmonic Mitigation

This paper uses the Synchronous Referenced Frame (SRF) control technique to present detailed performance analysis of a new combined power filter system, consisting of a passive and a hybrid filter tuned at dominant frequencies. Simulations results are used to show the capabilities and accuracy of the proposed SRF-based combined power filter in compensating injected harmonics of 6-pulse and 12- pulse rectifier loads as compared with a previously defined bandpass-based filtering system.
