Director reorientation due to Temperature Gradient in Twisted Nematic Liquid Crystals

Abstract: We have calculated director reorientation in nematic liquid crystals with the help of thermo - mechanical theory. We used one dimensional temperature gradient and its’ consequent director reorientation and changes in dielectric permittivity due to it and found results comparable with the ones’ of Giant Optical Nonlinearity (GON).
