    Hydrothermal route carried out for synthesizing NaYF4:Yb3+,Tm3+ Upconversion particles. As a crystalline structure, the upconversion emissions are dependent on crystal phase, size and morphology of the final particles. Utilization of citric acid, butanoic acid and sodium di-octyl sulfocuccinate as ligands, the XRD, SEM and PL spectroscopy used recorded the changes. Considering the UV emission intensity as main factor, the foremost ligand was selected.
