Azo dye as a photosensitive molecule undergo photoisomerization and reorintation. azo dye for many application incorporated as a guest in polymer matrix and liquid crystal hosts.interaction of azo dye and polymer leads to different properties . like simple guest-host azo dye doped passive polymer without functional group, azo dye doped polymer with functionality for hydrogene bonding and ionic self assemblly,azo dye covalently attached main chain of polymer backbon and azo dye doped liquid crystal. photoinduced anisotropy in thin film of azo dye is described.
