THE SPECTRAL CHARACTERIZATION OF n-GENERALIZED SKEW PROJECTIONS

In this paper, we investigate n-generalized skew projections in Banach algebras for n = 2 and 3. The necessary and sufficient conditions for a linear combination of two n-generalized skew projections to be an n-generalized skew projection are developed for n = 2 and 3. Our results generalize the results obtained for bounded linear operators on Hilbert spaces.
