Preparation and evaluation of photoluminescence properties and photocatalytic activity of Na2W2O7 toward photodegradation of organic dye

Na2W2O7 was prepared by solution combustion method at around 900- 1000oC and characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Photoluminescence property of as prepared sample was evaluated by PL test. The synthesized powder by crystal size of 78.7 nm forms a sheet of agglomerated particles. Photocatalytic activity of Na2W2O7 was evaluated by degradation of reactive blue 194 in aqueous solution in a semibatch photoreactor. The results were showed 50% decolourization within 60 minutes.
