Performance Comparison of Linear Vibration Absorbers and Nonlinear Energy Sink on Aeroelastic Flutter Instabilities

In this paper, the performance of several linear and nonlinear vibration absorbers on the flutter delaying of an aeroelastic model is analysed and compared. A two degree of freedom wing model is considered, and the quasi-steady aerodynamic is applied. The eigenvalue analysis is employed in order to obtain the flutter speed of the systems. The optimized values for the absorber’s parameters and their corresponding flutter speeds are presented
