Two–step computing of rock effective elastic parameters to capture effects of microstructures using digital rock physics

Elastic parameters of rock such as bulk and shear moduli play an important role in determination of the geomechanical properties of reservoir rocks. 3D high resolution images of rock samples can reveal valuable details in pore scale, however, their huge size of data makes it impossible to be numerically processed. We aim, in this study, to propose a two-step method to both capture pore scale details and decrease computational costs (time and computer storage)
