A study on the Scorpion fauna in borderline cities of West Azarbaijan province

In this study 213 scorpion from borderline cities of West Azarbaijan province (Poldasht, Piranshahr, Oshnaviyeh, Sardasht, Chaldoran, Salmas and Khoy) were collected. All recorded samples were studied based on morphological and morphometrical characteristics. Results of this research showed that 4 species, 1 subspeciesc and 4 genus of two families below are distributed in the mentioned localities: A-Family Buthidea 1- Androctonus crassicauda (Olivier, 1807) (Ghilshlanmish, Ghargholog Villages from Poldasht city) 2- Hottentotta saulcyi (Simon, 1880) (Jaldiyan village from piranshahr and Ghotor Village from Khoy city) 3- Mesobuthus caucasicus (Nordmann, 1840) (Sanambolaghi, Jamalkandi Village from Poldasht city) 4- Mesobuthus eupeus (CL. Koch. 1839) (Pasveh, Tamarchin, Kanimola Village from Piranshahr city) B- Family of Scorpionidae 1- Scorpio maurus townsendi (S. m krugiovi (Birula. 1910)) (Ghalatyan Village from Oshnaviyeh city)
