Current Medical Ethics Activities in Iran

Biomedical advanced , new medical technologies and public concern about medical ethics, in the recent decade have stimulated a renewed interest in bioethics. The growing trends in this subject have been also associated with increasing discussion about ethical aspects of the new knowledge in Iran. Ethics has a long history in Iran and great Iranian physicians laid special emphasis on teaching and practicing traditional ethics. In recent decade, great strides have been made in biomedical ethics, especially in the field of education , research, and legislation. In this article, a brief history, the current activities , and the topics of future plans are discussed.
