Social Studies Teachers’ Views about Use of Smart Board (Diyarbakır City Sample)

Abstract
The aim of this article was to determine the views of social studies teachers about use of smart board. In accordance with this purpose, datas were collected from 30 social studies teachers working in primary schools in central districts of Diyarbakır, by means of semi-structured interview as a qualitative research method. Descriptive analysis technique was used in data analysing and the acquired datas were presented as digitized. As a result of the research, findings showed that the use of smart board reifies the abstract terms and subjects, enables the meaningful learning and supports the active learning of students during the learning process. It was also concluded that social studies teachers haven’t enough knowledge and skills about smart board.
