Determination of Levels of Primary School Teachers Alternative Assessment and Evaluation Knowledge

Abstract
In this research it is aimed to determine the level of knowledge of primary school teachers’ alternative assessment and evaluation according to the relational survey model. The data of the research are gathered in the Anatolian side of Istanbul from 351 classroom teachers via personal information form and Alternative Assessment and Evaluation Knowledge Level Test (AAEKLT) prepared by the researcher. AAEKLT is formed of 19 items and the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient is found .75. Analyses of data are made by frequencies, percentages and means in addition comparisons’ of the means are calculated with t-test, one way ANOVA. According to the results obtained from the study, the levels of primary school teachers alternative assessment and evaluation knowledge was found midlevel. Also the levels of primary school teachers’ alternative assessment and evaluation knowledge differentiated as to gender, graduated school, professional seniority and the type of school the teachers are in.
