Abstract
This study contains validity and reliability studies of the Metacognitive Learning Strategies Determining Scale. The study group included 263 students from the primary school education department in Usak University. Development of the scale had following that preparing the item pool and calculating the validity and reliability. An item pool was constituted based on the related literature. For determining the validity of scale, content and construct validity were used. Content validity of the scale was provided via expert judgment and confirmatory factor analysis was done for construct validity. Moreover, Cronbach s alpha coefficient was used for reliability of scale. The analysis results showed that there were four factors- planning, monitoring, evaluationing and affective strategies- with 28 items in the scale. As a result, Metacognitive Learning Strategies Determining Scale is a useful instrument to assess the metacognitive learning strategies among teacher candidates.
