Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable instrument to measure the tendency of fatalism in high school college students. The working group consisted of 711 students (485 college students, 227 high school students). The results of the exploratory factor analysis revealed a four-factor structure (predetermination, personal control, luck and superstition). Exploratory factor analysis of the validity and criterion validity of the study was conducted. For the reliability of the scale Cronbach alpha coefficient was calculated for the whole of the scale, and subscales. Test-retest reliability and correlation coefficients between whole of scale and subscales was calculated for reliability. Cronbach s alpha coefficient was .86, test-retest reliability coefficient of .72. As a result of reliability and validity analyzes, the developed scale is a reliable and valid measurement tool and may be used in the study.
