Abstract
The number of patients, who are waiting for transplantation, increases day by day in Turkey. Therefore, most of these patients die at transplantation process. One of the main problems regarding transplantation process is poor management of the detection of brain death. This problem leads to both a decrease of possible appropriate donor and unnecessary obstruction of intensive care unit beds. This review aimed to give short and essential knowledge about the detection of brain death, and to add a data to Turkish literature.
