Abstract
Beet necrotic yellow vein virus, Beet soil borne virus, Beet virus Q and Beet soil borne mosaic virus are the important soil-borne virus diseases in the production areas of sugar beet. Four viruses are transmitted by fungus vector Polymyxa betae Keskin which survives in infested soil for many years. The viruses cause a significant crop yield reductions. These viruses are often found in same field, sometimes infecting the same beet. In this review, the results from some researches on the molecular techniques for diagnosis of soil borne viruses infecting sugar beet were summarized.
