Determination of Sexual Behavior in Turkish Saanen Bucks

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine sexual behavior traits of Turkish Saanen bucks. Research material consisted of 15 bucks reared in Suleyman Demirel University-Sheep-Goat Breeding and Application Unit. In sexual behavior test, bucks were evaluated in terms of mounting frequency, first mounting time, average time between two mount, ejaculation frequency, first ejaculation time, average time between two ejaculation and mating efficiency. Average live weight of Turkish Saanen bucks was 62.74 kg. Averages for mounting frequency, first mounting time, average time between two mount, ejaculation frequency, first ejaculation time, average time between two ejaculation and mating efficiency were 23.21, 148.10 second, 190.60 second, 3.23, 91.4 second, 398.5 second and 0.27, respectively. Results indicated that sexual performances of Turkish Saanen bucks were good enough and sufficient.
