Abstract
The present study was aimed for determining the prevalance of pestiviruses (Border disease; BD and bovine viral diarrhoea virus; BVDV) by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method in samples collected from abort cases in sheep in Elazığ, Malatya and Tunceli. As a result of this study, 36 (22.5%) of 160 animals were found positive for pestivirus. The results inidcates that, pestiviruses are important agent in etiology of sheep abortion in Elazığ, Malatya and Tunceli provinces.
