Abstract
Westminster Model, coming from the Palace of Westminster in the capital London, reveals the birth and development of parliamentary system. This structure shaped in 8th century in this land has arisen in the process of democratization of a monarchy. This paper aims to show how a monarchic system has turned into a parliamentary system via discrepancies in legislative power after significant historical events, as 1215 Magna Carta Libertatum, 1295 Model Parliament, The Realm of Stuarts, 1628 Petition of Rights, The Realm of Hannover, 1688 Glorious Revolution and 1689 Bill of Rights. In addition, it tries to explain today’s complex and controversial Westminster System by considering United Kingdom’s current problems.
