Abstract
Hyponymy is a method of Lingustics that deals with classification of words according to their meaning or hierarchy. As for conceptual field, it is a Linguistic area theory that involves synonyms, connotations and words that complement or limit each other in that their meaning. The point of view that a nation has about a concept is closely related with the words which are used by that nation. In this study, firstly, classification, hyponymy and conceptual field will be discussed. Secondly, animal concept in Dede Korkut Book, one of the significant works of Turkish Language and Literature, will be classified with the method of hyponymy. Finally, the point of view that Ghuzz Turks have about animal concept will be presented by the method of conceptual field.
