Abstract
The land based radioactive elements constitute the major part of the natural radioactivity. Terrestrial radioactivity is caused by the radioative elements that located in various amounts in soil and rocks. The concentration of radioactive elements can be found in various amounts due to geographical and geological structure of the region and the mineralogical composition of soil and rock. In this study, 40K activity concentrations of some soil samples that collected from Pamukkale, were measured. The measurement was performed using a gamma ray spectrometry that contains a 3”x3” NaI(Tl) detector at spectrometry laboratory of Süleyman Demirel University.
