Abstract
Science education has an important place in the development of children s scientific thinking skills, in the ability to answer scientific problems in everyday life, in the development of problem solving skills, and in the enhancement of life experiences and skills. Individuals with visual impairment access to information using other senses such as touch, hearing and tasting. By providing different senses to the foreground in the education process, it is possible to facilitate the scientific knowledge achievement of individuals with visual impairment. The case study method, qualitative research approach, was used in the study. In this study, it was tried to determine the learning needs related the concepts of State of Matter and Heat units of the 8th grades of primary students with visual impairment. 8th grade students of the Erzurum Yakutiye Visual Impairment School are sample of this study. Sample consists of the four students. Two of these students are blind and two of them have low vision. The needs of the students in the study set the needs of the students in the educational environment, teaching, learning and measurement-evaluation dimensions.
