    An Investigation on Endoparasite Fauna of Chub (Squalius cephalus), as Human Nutrition

  • Abstract
    In this study, the endoparasite presences on 150 Squalius cephalus (L., 1758) from Taşoluk Dam Lake, Turkey were investigated between April 2010 and May 2011. Two endoparasite species weredetermined in the host fishes: 33 Allocreadium isoporum (infection prevalence %1.3, mean parasitenumber and standart deviation 16.5±21.9) and 33 Bothriocephalus sp. (%7.3, 2.9±5.1) were found inintestine of the host fish. As a result of this, a new locality has been added to geographical distributions of the parasite species. In addition, minimum-maximum and mean intensity of parasites and infection prevalence were determined using seasonal data, size and sex distribution of the host fish.
