Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the factors that affecting live weight gain of calves by two different models, namely linear and log-linear models. It was concluded that two different models used to determine factors affecting live weigh gain produced similar results. Although, in both cases, both race of calves and live weight gain on forth week were not found to be statistically the significant, all other parameters were found to be statistically significant. In the both models, it was found that growth performance of female calves were lower than that of male calves. 1 kg concentrated food consumed per calve caused 0.76 kg live weight gain in linear model. It was determined that there was no difference between races. Determination coefficients of models were quite high. On the other hand, determination coefficient of log-linear model was higher by %0.02.
