Abstract
Radioisotope calibrators are used to measure the amount of radioactive substance to be given to patients in Nuclear Medicine Centers. Achieving the desired results in the analyses to be made depends on measuring the amount of radioactive substance to be given to patients with the least possible error. The radiation, which is intentionally given to patients, must be measured well. This can be possible with the condition that radioisotope calibrators that enable measuring the radioactive substance must have proper performances. In order to achieve this target, measurement for linearity tests were performed with two different radioisotope calibrators, ; Capintec 15 R [(Seri no:159083)-number one calibrator] and Biodex ATOM LAB-500 [(Seri no:9100052)-number two calibrator] in a Nuclear Medicine Center. By using a short half-life radioisotope (Tc-99m ) in these measurements, linearity tests of devices have been performed by using the method of decreasing source, increasing source and sample-volume effect. In consequence of these tests, tests, which is done for both calibrators are within the error limits (%5), but according to the test results of the performance of number one calibrator, it is better than with a very small difference.
