Abstract
Objective: This study was conducted with the purpose of determining the attitudes of university students towards elderly discrimination. Method: The study was conducted with 300 students. Questionnaire form and ‘ Ageism Attitude Scale’ information form were used as data collection instruments. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallıs analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: As a result, it was found out that university students have positive attitudes towards elderly discrimination and significant differance was found between ageism attitude scale scores of students and their gender, academic programme and class (p 0.005). Conclusion: It was suggested that the students should composed training and counseling programs related to elderly and ageism from the beginning of students’ education. Key Words
