Even though there are many factors affecting the power of a study, α, effect size and sample size are the most important ones. Even though the calculation of the statistical power is important, it is difficult to say that today’s nursing researches commonly determine the number of samples by using power analysis. This study is fairly an introduction knowledge about the power analysis. The article not only conveys some statistical terms regarding the power analysis, but also includes information about how to use the basic information, power analysis types and the power analysis in the sample calculation.
