Abstract
The itineraries-a kind of a travel literature is a “travel recollections”. In the frames of Orientalism, the travels to the East penetrates into the history and took a political meaning all the more. 19th century French writer François Rene Chateaubriand (1768-1848) who wrote Paris-Jerusalem Travel L’ıtinérarire De Paris A Jérusalem) is one of them. He writes in it;his travel recollections he did to the East between the years (1806-1807).The writer in his work approaches to the Otoman-Turkish(Muslim) just as a Medieval Catholic Chauvinism. Chateaubriand has an understanding of Latin Culture and accused the Turks of abolishing that culture. We should evaluate Chateaubriand’s work as an orientalist product of a very strong Catholic writer.
