In the first half of the 18th century, Abdulganî an-Nablusî (d. 1143/1731)-one of the foremost sufists and scholars of Damascus- attracted attention with the more than three hundred works he compiled and sufistic trips. an-Nablusî, who was connected with Qadiriyya, Suhrewardiyya, Naqshbandiyya and Akbariyya School, had close relations with the Mawlawiyya members with whom he was familiar since his childhood. Upon the increasing critics towards the Mawlawiyya Order in Damascus, he published his work called al-Ukudu’l-lu’luiyya and tried to prove that the applications of this order were appropriate to religious spirit. In this article, we aim to clarify the critics made to Mawlawiyya during the period when Nablusi lived in Damascus and determine his answers to these critics in his work named al-Ukudu’l-lu’luiyya.
