Abstract
This research was conducted at Palandoken Apprentice Training Center in Erzurum in order to investigate the mediating effect of craftsman’s support on the relationship between apprentice s individual responsibility and career development. The conceptual model is presented and relevant hypotheses are tested with a sample of 174 apprentices who have trained at Palandoken Apprenticeship Training Centre in Erzurum. Data were analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results demonstrate a partial mediation role of craftsman’s support on the relationship between apprentice s individual responsibility and career development. The support of a craftsman to the apprentice affects the apprentice s career development and also the apprentice s individual responsibility has been found to affect the apprentice s career development.
