Abstract
The Borabey Pond as an irrigation water resource is prone to potential pollution by agricultural practices as its watershed. This necessitates that adequate precautions are taken before the water quality is adversely affected for its intended use. In this respect it is of importance that the physical and hydrological conditions and stratification pattern of the pond be determined which have been conducted in this study. A high resolution bathymetric map if the pond was created by combining land measurements using RTK GPS and bathmetric data obtained using ADCP. The vertical temperature profile was obtained with two year long observations. The RTRM index was utilized to determine the stratification pattern. The epilimnion, metalimnion and hypolimnion volumes were calculated. It was found that the pond has a monomictic mixing pattern.
