Abstract
The aim of this study is to assess wind energy potential in four different sites located in Turkey. To evaluate the wind energy potentials the monthly mean wind velocity values were taken from Turkish State Meteorological Service. Rayleigh distribution was used for the wind energy potential calculations. Relations were represented analytically. It is concluded that, due to the high mean wind speed values, power density of Belen and Gökçeada regions were found higher than that of other regions.
