Abstract
In the industries which have low level entrance costs, the SME’s which manage their resources effectively, develop strategies appropriate to their flexible and agile structures and support those strategies with effective supply chain management can gain competitive advantage and challenge with large firms. This study emphasizes on logistics capabilities which have vital importance within the supply chain. In this context the effects of logistics capabilities on SME’s strategy – performance relationship have been explored. 238 questionnaires from owners or executives of 121 anufacturing SME’s which operating in Marmara Region of Turkey have been used to solve the research questions which about neglected subject in the strategic management researches. The database analyzed by SPSS v.15 statistical program through developed hypothesis. According to the findings of this research supported the positive effects of logistics capabilities on business performance. Moreover the mediating role of logistics capabilities on the relationship between strategy and business performance has been revealed.
