  • Abstract
Although the term Indian is not a correct one, it has managed to find its way to the literature and refers to tribes living in America who were the real owners of the lands before European colonists arrived. Living in harmony with all the creatures and resources which they see holly for thousands of years until they met Columbus, they had witnessed how these holly things had been barbarically exploited by the colonists. White man, who were held responsible for dangering the world by the Indians, are the most greedy and ambitious people to dominate the World and they were representatives of Western World which was seen as superior in the West-East comparison made by Weber. As a result of industrial production and barbaric use of natural resources by the Western World, the world has started to lose its dynamic balance. In this paper, taking into account the famous reply of Indian chief Seattle in response to the letter of American President Franklin Pierce which asks them to sell their lands to the new colonists, the Indian perception of environment against environmental problems was investigated.
