Abstract
Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculopathy (CIDP) is an autoimmune disorder which affects myelin parts of spinal root, plexus and nerve bodies of peripheral nerves. Coincidence of Hashimoto tyroiditis with CIDP has been reported very rarely. A patient with Hashimoto tyroiditis for six years was diagnosed as CIDP in our clinic due to the complaints of loss of energy and numbness in her hands and feet developed for a year. This patient responded adequately to the IVIG treatment. We want to emphasize that coincidence of Hashimoto tyroiditis and CIDP might not be accidental and probably might have occurred, via immune mechanisms, by common pathogenetic mechanisms.
