  • Abstract
Primary hyperparathyroidism is a disease which is caused with extreme parathormone secretion from parathyroid glands and is mostly related with parathyroid adenoma. This disease, which is usually asymptomatic can manifest clinical symptoms related to various systems and organs. Symptomatic cases may appear with weakness, fatigue, anorexia, polyuria, polydipsia and musculoskeletal system pains. In this case presentation, we are presenting a 72 year old female patient who had complaint of extreme pain in sholders and hips and difficulty in walking. The range motion of sholders and hips of the patient were found to be painful and restricted in the patient’s physical examination. Since an increase in parathormone was observed in laboratory examination, the parathyroid ultrasonography was performed and a parathyroid adeno-ma was detected. In this case presentation, we wanted to draw your attention to the fact that parathyroid pathology of the patients who have complaints of difficulty in walking and extreme arthralgia should also be taken into consideration.
