  • Abstract
    Tourism industry which is in the world s fastest-growing and growing sectors constitutes a specific aspect of living together in a community of people. This aspect of the tourism sector, which serve as a social event interaction can be interaction between communities which have different social and cultural structures as a result of relationships established during the trips and stays. Examination of the possible social and cultural impacts caused by tourism is important especially in terms of determining the changes in the structure of the host society. This study aims to examine the socio-cultural impacts of tourism and determine the tourist guides opinions and attitudes about social and cultural changes. For the purpose of the study, people who perform the profession of tourist guidingin the province of Trabzon as a sample were selected and 55 survey implemented the tourist guides. As a result of the applicationin order to describe the data collected from survey, each statement in the survey were evaluated based on the frequency and percentage distributions, and the relationship between expression was determined by Correlation Analysis. According to the findings of the study, it has been observed that tourist guides, in general, do not havea negative opinion about socio-cultural impacts of tourism. The conclusion has been reached that tourism affects either people who accept tourists, or the people of the country that generates tourists by sociological, and also socio-cultural exchanges that occurdue to tourism has an impact on the level of development of destinations, the media and tourist guides.
