Abstract
The developments in science, technology, industry and rural development change the emergence type of agricultural activity and the expectations for agricultural products. With the rise in the awareness level in societies for environment and health, the interest in organic agriculture increases and the organic market becomes wide at increasing rate. This study focuses on the economic dimension of organic agriculture in its example of Turkish economy. Although Turkey has quite sufficient conditions and a large potential of production in terms of organic agriculture, it occupies a little place in the world organic production and food market. İn order for Turkey to continue the economical existence of agriculture depends on providing investment with recycling, reducing the costs and increasing the demand for products in domestic and foreign market. Especially following the technological progress which happens in the world and using the gains obtained from this process in the export of organic agricultural products have importance.
