The objective of this study was to evaluate the economic importance of agricultural sector in terms of developing countries and to examine its benefit to Turkey from viewpoint of production, finance and marketing possibilities. The agricultural sector has made great strides in a lot of countries across the world in recent years. In parallel with these developments, the production agricultural machinery and equipment sector has also been increased and the efforts related to the agricultural activities have been accelerated. The agricultural machinery and equipment production, fulfilling in accordance with the efforts directed towards to agricultural activities, shows differences by depending on countries ‘economic, geographical and development and political structure. For these reasons, numerous agricultural machinery and equipment companies develop new production, finance and marketing strategies with aim of gaining a seat in market and excelling their competitiveness. While developing financial strategies, the companies in agricultural machinery and equipment sector will have opportunities to solve their financial problems by preferring alternative financial resources such as barter system, leasing and risk capital. The companies in the sector will be successful by increasing production quality, decreasing costs and excelling economic, social and technological area in a fiercely competitive environment.
