Abstract
In the second of half of the 20th century, Turkish Society has experienced a rapid process of change. In this essay, we tried to describe and understand the current situation with reference to the observations giving insight to the mentioned transformations and changes in the family structures, values, family relations and concerned attitudes in this period. In this comprehension activity, we used an old story which is family-themed and called “Wooden Bowls” as samples. In our study, by taking comments of people who read the story in their childhood into consideration, the contents of the story and the concerned comments are analyzed by associating to social context and social change. Today at this point, within the frame of this analysis, we infer that Turkish Society has overcome the trauma of the change in the family structure.
