Abstract
Carrying the various parts of the social, cultural, economic, political, artistic and military lives of the Oghuzs from four centuries before the present day, Dede Qorqut Oghuzletters are important cultural treasures which make the values, world views, beliefs, point of view of the nature of the Oghuzs as well as the events they lived to reach the present. One of the highly important fields on which most significant information is given to us is undoubtedly the music, one of the main branches of fine arts. In the introduction part and in each of the 12 epics, music and musical instruments are seen; minstrels, princes and combatants, Dede Qorqut in the lead perform music, sing songs and perform folk songs. In each epic artist, music and musical instruments exist. All of these show that music plays an important part in the lives of the Oghuzs.
