The Investigation of the Relationships among Academic Self- Efficacy Perception, Organizational Trust and Organizational Cynicism via Structural Equation Modeling: An Application on University Students

It would be certain that some reflections of the organizational factors that will be experienced in the university environment where the human resources of the future were trained would appear in the future career of the students. Therefore, in this study, the relations among the academic self-efficacy, student trust to the organization and the student cynicism against the organization; which were thought to be effective in terms of students’ academic and vocational life, have been investigated. For this purpose, the effects of academic self-efficacy perception and the organizational cynicism on organizational trust were searched and the relationship between academic self-efficacy perception and organizational cynicism was examined through mediating role of organizational trust. The research was done on 441 students studying at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University consist of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduates and it was applied by using survey technique. The data obtained was evaluated by confirmatory factor, reliability, correlation and structural regression analysis. According to the findings, academic self-efficacy perception increases organizational trust. Likewise, contrary to expectations, there is a significant positive relationship between the perception of academic self-efficacy and organizational cynicism. On the other hand, the variable of trust to the management has a mediator role in the organizational cynicism and academic self-efficacy relationship.
