Factors Affecting the Success of the Two Year Degree and Bachelor Degree Students Taking Financial Accounting Courses: A Research on Atatürk University Open Education Faculty

Abstract
In this study, factors that affect the Financial Accounting course success and Grade Point Avarage of two year degree and bachelor degree students at the Open Education Faculty, Atatürk University are analyzed. Data was collected from 158.927 students who have registered since the establishment of the Open Education Faculty, among those students 15.424 students who have taken financial accounting course were selected and chi-square which reveals the relationship between two qualitative variables was applied. According to the results it was observed that the gender and generation are effective factors. Two year degree students are more successful than bachelor degree students and vocational high school graduated are less successful than the other high school graduates. FEAS graduates/students who are studying in the context of second university are more prospering than the other faculty graduates/students.
