    CLASSROOM TEACHERS OPINIONS ON GAINING GAINS RELATED TO DIRECTION AND DIRECTION FINDING IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Abstract
    The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of primary school students towards classroom teachers in order to gain direction and direction gains. The research was conducted with a qualitative research model. The study group consists of 35 classroom teachers working in Kastamonu province. The data was collected in a structured open-ended interview form. The data obtained were analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the research, it is seen that teachers define the concept of direction. It was determined that the teachers dealt with the most topics related to direction and direction finding in social studies courses; they used the most compass in their direction finding techniques; and the students used the sun. Teachers stated that they applied to the map with the most technological tools in the direction teaching; that the subject is intangible and the concepts of direction are confused by the students at the beginning of the obstacles encountered in gaining the gains related to direction and direction finding. In line with the results, suggestions such as carrying out activities in which students are active, linking direction finding activities with other courses and daily life, and increasing teacher competencies related to finding direction were included.
