Abstract
In this study, halophilic microorganisms were isolated from different solar salterns in Sivas and characterization of these isolates based on 16S rRNA gene analysis have been performed. Isolation was done by using 5 different media prepared with different salt concentrations. 16S rRNA genes of morphologically distinct colonies were analyzed by ARDRA and restriction profiles were compared. 47 strains were selected for identification purposes. It has been determined that the isolates in the Bacteria domain are phylogenetically related to genera Idiomarina, Salinivibrio, Halomonas, Salinibacter, Gracilibacillus, Thalassobacillus, Aliifodinibius, Chromohalobacter, Planococcus, Marinobacter, Bacillus, Aquisalimonas, Marinococcus, Alkalibacillus, Kangiella and Microbulbifer. Halophilic archaeal isolates were distributed among genera Haloferax, Natrinema, Haloterrigena, Halopelagius, Halorhabdus and Haloarcula.
