Abstract
One of the many activities conducted to provide meaningful learning of the learners in the process of teaching and learning social studies education is the use of materials that provide concrete learning. One of these materials used in social studies class is cartoon. Cartoon is one of the materials that enables learners to learn by amusing in learning-teaching process. In this study, it was taken as a basis to evaluate the use of cartoons in the social studies lesson in terms of student perceptions. The study was a qualitative study and the data obtained in the study were analyzed using content and descriptive analysis techniques. As a result of the study, it was found that the students of the study group had similar perceptions about the use of dersteine in cartoon material.
